                Abstract

                Writing is one important English Skills; it is a difficult subject especially for the students. The reason is because writing is mixture of our idea, vocabulary and also grammar, unlike speaking that we use in everyday activity. The research design of the study was descriptive qualitative. The techniques which were used to collect the data were by using some instruments. They were observation, field note, and questionnaires. The subjects of the study were the students of the VIII E of SMP Muhammadiyah 6 Krian. After collecting the data, the writer analyzed the observation and the questionnaires. The finding of this study showed that the students’ writing ability toward the using composite picture is getting better. And they could write descriptive text more interest. From the result of questionnaires, most of the students gave good responses toward the using of composite picture. More than 70% of 33 students agree that the writing is helpful for them to create another written test of descriptive text. Key Words: Teaching, Writing, Descriptive Text, Composite Picture
