Abstract
This study is sociolinguistics study. It focuses on register used by convection workers in Babat Lamongan. Like many other professions, convection workers in Babat Lamongan use register in context with their occupation. They use it when they are in convection area and when they are working in their house as printer, cutter and tailor. This study is limited about the register used by convection workers in Babat Lamongan. The purposes of this study are to describe the register and to explain why they use the register. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. The data are collected from two sources include the subject and the place. From collecting data, the researcher used some techniques, they are recording, observation and interview. The instruments are tape recorder, notes and interview guide approve the techniques collecting data. All the data analyzed through identifying, describing and explaining. In analysis the data, the researcher found the real communication used by convection workers who live in Babat Lamongan. Finally, the researcher hopes that the finding will be useful to enrich our insight of sociolinguistics. Key word: Sociolinguistics, Register, Speech Community
