                Abstract

                Writing is one of important English skills; it is a difficult subject especially for the student. The reason is because writing is mixture of our idea, vocabulary and also grammar, unlike speaking that we use in everyday activity. The research design of this study was descriptive qualitative. The techniques which were used to collect the data were by using some instruments. They were observation, field notes, photographs, video recording, and questionnaires. The subjects of the study were the students of the XI Ak 1 of SMK Muhammadiyah 3 PemudaKrian. After collecting the data, the writer analyzed the observation and the questionnaire. The finding of this study showed that the students’ writing ability toward the using of picture series is getting better. And they could write procedure text more interest.From the result of the questionnaire, most of the students gave good responses toward the using of series pictures. More than 58% of 39 students strongly agreed that the using of series pictures were very helpful for them to create another written text of procedure.
