Abstract

Communication is a tool to share the daily need of people. There are kind of communications that people use to communicate each other. Different purpose of communication has different kind in the delivering. This research has three purposes. They are to describe the kind of egalitarianism in casual language that coffee stall visitors used, how and why they use casual language in their communication. In this research, the researcher use descriptive qualitative method to analyze the data. The data analyzed is in the form of utterances of the dialogue that spoken by coffee stall visitors. The data is taken at Umi coffee stall in Bango, Payaman, Solokuro, Lamongan, East java. The source of the data is taken from recorded conversation of the coffee stall visitors and some dialogue from the interview. The result of this research is that casual language is prefer to communicate to make an egaliter or equalizer in the coffee stall. From the research, can be concluded that the use of casual language in coffee stall is more efficient to make solidarity among the other coffee stall visitors. They use the language to omit the limit of their different social class. So they can make the communication more familiar and cozy. Key Word: egalitarianism, casual language, farmer, coffee stall
