Abstract
A farmer is someone who works in the agricultural sector. Farmers’ working environment is dirty, dusty, watery and damp and many farmers do not use personal protective equipment. From these activities, farmers become vulnerable to exposure to fungi that infect the skin because most of the activities are around water. One of the fungi that often infects humans is the fungus Aspergillus sp. that is often found in various habitats, but generally in aerial saprophytes. This research aimed to determine whether or not the fungus Aspergillus sp. between the toes of farmers in the Nglarangan, Bojonegoro area. This type of research was descriptive, with the number of research samples being 37 swab samples between the toes of farmers in the Nglarangan, Bojonegoro area. This fungal examination was carried out with a cotton swab moistened with 0.9% NaCl solution which had been rubbed between the farmer’s toes and then streaked onto Saburoud Dextrose Agar (SDA) media which was incubated for 7 days at room temperature. The results showed that 22 samples (59.45%) were found positive for Aspergillus sp. and 15 samples (40.54%) were found to be negative for Aspergillus sp. The results of this data showed that the majority of samples from swabs between the toes of farmers in the Nglarangan, Bojonegoro area were positive for the fungus Aspergillus sp. This was because most of the farmers do not practice personal hygiene.
