Abstract

Cases infected by the covid-19 virus to increase. The government recommends staying at home. Human habits are slowly changing, including the experience of using contraception. Pandemics discourage people from go to health care facilities because of fear infected it, and some basic health services are unable to provide contraceptive care. Objective: to describe the experience of contraceptive use during the covid-19 pandemic. This study uses a cross sectional approach with case studies through contraceptive use surveys in East Java A total of 147 respondents who had filled the questionnaire. Mostly with higher education. The number of respondents who did not use birth control increased by 3%. In the use of contraceptive types of pills and injections there was a decrease of 1%. There was no change in birth control use in respondents with BIRTHIDs, implants and tubectomy/vasectomy. The decrease in the number of users of pill and injectable contraceptives was due to services in midwives closing, so respondents had a natural change of way. This is what leads to the high number of respondents who do not use contraception. The situation of the covid pandemic caused many changes in habits including the use of contraception.
