Abstract
This article aims to analyze the mathematical understanding of first grade students of SD Muhammadiyah 24 Surabaya using the quizizz application media in mathematics lessons. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method with data sources from interviews with teachers using observation interview sheets, and documentation. Interactive data analysis is carried out through data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. Based on the data obtained, students were able to fulfill four indicators of mathematical understanding including mentioning material concepts, applying concepts algorithmically, identifying and making examples of concepts, and linking mathematical concepts with external and internal mathematical concepts. The research also found an increase in interest in learning as evidenced by the enthusiasm of students when working on the questions given in the quizizz. It can be concluded that grade 1 students of SD Muhammadiyah 24 Surabaya are able to understand mathematical concepts well according to the indicators of mathematical understanding.
