Abstract

Human life will never be far away from literature, because literature deals with things connected with beauty and human life, such as human behaviors, human values, and the beauty of life such as falling in love. Romance is a part that can not be separated from love. And love is symbol that spreads the good moral value, affection, softness, warmth, comfort, caring, and blessing for human universal. Concerning with the understanding above, D.H. Lawrence’s Women in Love is chosen to be analyzed, because he is a man of great intellectual capacity and a master of the symbol in the psychological sense. He wrote many literatures about psychology of men and women and sexual relationship. This thesis is applied to find out and describe the behavior of women in love in D.H. Lawrence’s Women in Love. Women characters are Ursula, Gudrun, Hermione and Minnete. Some theories such as, Hermeneutics, Woman nature, Women behavior, Women’s jealousy and envy, the form of love, and the definition of love were used in this thesis to support the process in analyzing the behavior of women in love. Another sources are used were taken from the dialogue and another related materials. The main data were taken from the novel (narrator, dialogues, behaviors and other characters). After analyzing the behavior of women in love in D.H. Lawrence’s Women in Love based on Hermeneutics theory, it is concluded that behavior of women in love include verbal behavior and non-verbal behavior. Verbal behaviors are from the dialogues, and their behaviors and non-verbal behaviors are from narrator and other characters.
