                Abstract

                Keywords ; Hermeneutics, Poetry, Total Meaning. Poetry as one of form the literary work that is used by many people to express their deeply feel experiences. To help everyone appreciates and comprehend the poem easily, this study is going to analyze hermeneutics . The use of hermeneutics can make a poem more meaningful and interesting. This study is intended to find kinds of Hermeneutics existing in Some Keep The Sabbath Going to Church, I Never Saw a Moor, and I Died for Beauty but was Scarce by Emily Dickinson. This poem is chossen because it is one of the best dramatic monologues poem which ever written in the history of American literature that has deeply meaning, full of intric and mystery . The statements of the problem in this study as follows ; What does Emily Dickinson try to explain in her poems. They will be analyzed in chapter 4. To finds what is hermeneutics, the study uses theories of Richard E Palmer. The data are collected through library study in which any written material that supports the study. After analyzing poetry using hermeneutics theory, the study has found the deeper meaning on some Emily Dickinson’s poems. Since the hermeneutics used may help reveal the total meaning of poem. Some Keep the Sabbath Going to Church, I Never Saw a Moor, and I Died for Beauty but was Scarce may be understood that has several effects, such as religion, hopeful, faith, and obedient.
