                Abstract

                This study analyzed the Hegemony in “The Hunger Games” Novel. In that novel, there was an indication of the power of the bourgeoise which portrayed in the image of a fear games, called “Hunger Games”. Based on the background above, the researcher found two problem to be analyzed.The aim was to analyze the way and the reason of borgouise community establish their hegemony in that novel. To analyze that problem, the researcher used the theory of Hegemony from “Antonio Gramsci” as the main theory. For the methodology, the researcher uses descriptive qualitative methods because the researcher wants to analyze by describing the data. The study provided the description about how “The Hunger Games” is used as the tool to control the society, in this case is the twelve districts. The capitol, as the bourgeouis state shows their power by giving their hegemony to the tributes who had been chosen as the player of the games. Capitol give the promises to serve all the districts who has been the winner of the games as well as possible. But the real, it is only promises. They only gave the luxurious for the player.
