                Abstract

                Key Words : Phonemes, Phonetic Changes, Context This study investigates the different phonemes between Madurese and Lebanisuko Madurese at Lebanisuko village kecamatan Krian, kabupaten Gresik. This research data uses descriptive qualitative method, because it does not discuss about numeral but it discuss about the word and phrases in the of speech that is found in Lebanisuko Madurese. Even though Katamba describes that there are no languages have exactly the same inventory of phonemes which are realised by the same set of allophones; no two languages have exactly the same phonological rules regulating the deployment of their sounds. This study presents the words that have different phoneme between Madurese and Lebanisuko Madurese in Lebanisuko village kecamatan Wringinanom, kabupaten Gresik, and analyze based on phonetic changes. The example of phonemes in Lebanisuko Madurese are: de’rema, dhiri’, dhluwang, lésen. The result of this study is most of Lebanisuko people that used Madurese in their daily activity, when they meet with their friend and talk to younger people. They use it everywhere, at their home, on the street, etc.
