Abstract
Key words: Feminism, character, Liberal Feminism The title of the thesis “Liberal Feminism in the Main Character in Henrik Ibsen’s a Doll’s House”. Literature springs from inborn love of telling story, of arranging words in pleasing patterns, of expressing in word some special aspect of our human experience. Literature is a combination between imagination and creativity, it presents beauty and the ideas of qualities that give pleasure to observe or the personal attraction in certain features—hence it is known that a wide array of literature is interesting—as a means to increase knowledge of literary works by people. Literature is everything that is written or a fiction that has six components in the writing that tells such as; stories, dramatize situations, express emotions, and analyze and advocate ideas. It presents major genre of those is three, such as; story, drama and poems. Liberal Feminism through Nora’s Act’s: A Study of Main Characters in Drama’s Henrik Ibsen. He wrote one of his most famous works: the play A Doll's House. In 1890. Based on the background above, statement of the problem as follows: How is Liberal Feminism act described in the drama through the main character in Henrik Ibsen’s A Doll’s House?This study is qualitative, where it is read and selects literary works relevant to the study, and then analyze it, predicts the problem and takes data dealing with the purpose of the study, conduct survey towards dialogue in the story, gives interpretation and explanation based on the dialogues. The story The A Doll’s House, it wants to explain about liberal feminism in main character. The researcher must know Nora’s character after that find out feminism classes.
