Abstract
Knowledge and attitude of coronary heart disease (CHD) patient about relapse preventing that less because the information of relapse preventing was just gave to patient that will go home. Discharge planning can be one of alternative to prepare the patient can understand the problem and preventive care that have to do. The
objective of this study was to examine the effect of discharge planning on knowledge and attitude relapse preventing on coronary heart disease patient.
Design used in this study was Quasy Experiment. The total sample was 12 CHD patients that included by inclusion criteria. The independent variable that was used in this study was discharge planning and the dependent variable was knowledge and attitude of relapse preventing on CHD patients. The data was analyzed by Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test and Mann Whitney with significance level ≤0,05.
The result of statistic test showed that knowledge with Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test analyzed in treatment group had significance level p=0,024 and control group is p=0,018. The attitude of treatment group showed p=0,027 and control group p=0,414. Mann Whitney test showed that p=0,002 for knowledge and p=0,002 for attitude. It can be concluded that discharge planning have an effect on knowledge and attitude relapse preventing on CHD patients. Further
study should measure the effect of discharge planning on compliance of heart rehabilitation on coronary heart disease patient.
