Abstract

As a result of the development of technology, about 21.1% of young women in Indonesia have had an abortion. The process of abortion is an illegal activity that is prohibited by the state and religion. This is a result of the perspective on sex outside of marriage. Like Randy Bagus Hari Sasongko, a police officer with the rank of Bripda who has violated the professional code of ethics as a law enforcement officer, namely the police, by forcing Novia Widyasari, a student at Brawijaya University (Unibraw), Malang, who is also his lover, to have an abortion. To resolve this case from a human rights perspective, it is necessary to conduct an assessment. The study method in this research is the normative juridical method, namely the study of legislation and other references that support the subject. Based on the study, it can be concluded that every child in the womb has the right to live, maintain life and improve their standard of living. This shows that there is a prohibition against killing an unborn child or commonly referred to as abortion.
