Abstract
In this study, the researcher discussed the types of sentences of illocutionary act in love language words of affirmation in “Redeeming Love” movie. The purposes of this research is to study a type of love language that is words of affirmation depicted in the movie.The object of this study is focused on speech act types illocutionary act and the meaning in love language words of affirmation used in "Redeeming Love" movie manuscript and the sentences the script become main focused that researcher going to analyze. The data were analyzed based on illocutionary act theory by Austin and love language theory by Gary Chapman. In analyzing the data, the researcher used speech act of types illocutionary act. To give the reason of love language words of affirmation used in “Redeeming Love” movie manuscript, the writer uses content analysis method in analysing the utterances in Redeeming Love Movie. The procedures of the research are: first, the researcher watched the movie. Second, the researcher optaining the movie script. Third, the researcher make data transcription by read the dialogue and sorting the data. Then, coding the data with categorize the utterances in the movie. The conclusion is based on kind of illocutionary act and the meanings of love language words of affirmation.
