Abstract
The research focused on teaching grammar using hello English application as alternative media at the seventh grade of SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Surabaya. There were 23 students in 7B class as a subject of the study. The aim of this research is to see the English language learning media that hello English application can improve learning outcomes and understanding of students on simple present tense learning. The method was used in this study was pre-experimental method. The data were gathered through observation and questionnaire. The finding showed that there was one student who has not exceeded the passing grade with score 75 from experimental. On the calculation of observational data using SPSS 22.0 software has stated that Hello English application can be an alternative media for learning English especially teaching grammar.
