Abstract

Poetry is an imaginativeawareness of experience expressed through meaning, sound, and rhythmic language choices so as to create an emotional response.Relating to the characterization of the literary works, the poetwill attract the readers by using figurative language in order to beautify his/ her poetry.This study is aimed to describefigurative language and to reveal the posibble meaning. More specifically,this study is aimed(1) To identifykind of the figurative languagefoundin Shakespeare’s poems “A Fairy Song”,“A Madrigal”and ”All the World’s a Stage”. (2)To analyzewhat the figurative languageto the possible meaning in Shakespeare’s poems “A Fairy Song”, “A Madrigal” and ”All the World’s a Stage”. The method that was used in this study isqualitative.The qualitative method was used to find the meaning of the figurative languageand to reveale the possible meaning that find in the poems. The data collection was done by readthe classic poetry series of William Shakespearethoroughlyand then collected the data, selected, and the last isanalyze what the figurative language andthe possible meaning. Through the analysis, it was found that there were many figurative language used in Shakespeare’s poems “A Fairy Song”,“A Madrigal”and ”All the World’s a Stage”.In conclusion, this study would be focused on the figurative languageand the possible meaning were found in the poems“A Fairy Song”,“A Madrigal”and ”All the World’s a Stage”which were interest for wrapped in order to easy for us to understanding meaning and message in that poems.
