Abstract
Key Words: drama, comedy, farce comedy, manner comedy This research aimed to describe of comedy Anton Chekhov’s in The Boor. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. Because the data is not accounting, it just analysis. The data is taken from script of The Boor. The technique of this research is collecting, selecting, and then analyzing. Drama is as a work of literature. Drama is a expressing an idea of the author that describes experience of her life or experience of social life is happens in her country at that time. Drama included dialogue of the actors, setting, and characterization. It all of written in a paper is called script. Comedy is a kind of drama that describes a joke. And the farce comedy is a type of comedy, it s usually using the dialogue that describe of rude, vulgar, and flexible. Manner comedy is type of comedy that describe about upper-class society. The author is pretending serves this drama to make tension of the audience, and then, they laugh after understand about the contents of this drama. The result of this study, it can be concluded that, there are the man and the woman that they loved each other, but they are more important ego. The man is rude of loved the stubborn woman. The early, they are duel about the problem that they seen, i.e. indebt of the woman’s husband. And finally, they are loved each other after debate of the problem. The changes of feeling that they happens in a moment make the audience shock and they are laugh.
