Abstract

Background:High number of people withDMin the world has increasedglobally every year.Different Lifestylessince the patient on hospitalized and when the patient carries out from the hospital become a problem in many countries, including Indonesia. The condition during hospitalizationwillcause saturation forDMpa-tients. Therefore, motivation to comply with the blood glucose diet by adjusting the diet is essential toDMpatients.DMpatients must adjust their diet according to the principles of theDMdiet suggested by health workers since they cankeep their blood sugar under control by adjusting the patient’s diet.Objective:To explore the relationship between motivation and dietary compliance with type 2 DMpatients in Galis village, Galis Health Center, Pamekasan DistrictMethod:It was observational research with a cross-sectional study conducted on peoplewithDMType 2(N=30,20 to 70 years old). A 19 items ButlerMotivation and tenitems Dietary of Behaviour questionarywereused. Statistical analysis was done us-ing SPSS (21.00 version). Results:Most of the type 2 DMsufferers experienced high mo-tivation, and sufferers comply with the type 2 diabetes mellitus diet.Conclusion:There is a relationship between motivation and ad-herence to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
