Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan persepsi orang tua terhadap pengaruh buruk permainan online Roblox pada siswa Sekolah Dasar, dengan fokus pada empat dimensi: sosial, akademik, finansial, dan psikologis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis studi fenomenologi. Sumber data terdiri dari data primer, yaitu orang tua dari tiga siswa SD aktif pengguna Roblox, dan data sekunder berupa dokumen pendukung. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara mendalam semiterstruktur, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Adapun instrumennya berupa panduan wawancara dan lembar observasi. Analisis data dilakukan meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan dan verifikasi kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa orang tua mempersepsikan pengaruh buruk Roblox sebagai sebuah sindrom yang saling berkait. Pada aspek sosial, Roblox dipersepsikan menggeser interaksi anak ke dunia virtual dan mengganggu komunikasi keluarga. Pada aspek akademik, platform ini dianggap sebagai pengganggu utama konsentrasi dan pemicu kebiasaan menunda-nunda (procrastination). Pada aspek finansial, kekhawatiran meliputi transaksi tak terkontrol dan internalisasi nilai konsumtif berbasis status sosial virtual. Pada aspek psikologis, orang tua mengamati labilitas emosional dan gejala awal ketergantungan, di mana kesejahteraan emosional anak menjadi sangat terikat dengan pengalaman dalam game. Disimpulkan bahwa orang tua mempersepsikan Roblox bukan sekadar hiburan, melainkan sebuah ekosistem digital kompleks yang secara simultan berpotensi mengisolasi anak secara sosial, mengganggu prestasi akademik, mendistorsi pemahaman finansial, dan mengancam stabilitas psikologisnya.

This study aims to describe parents’ perceptions of the negative impact of the online game Roblox on elementary school students, focusing on four dimensions: social, academic, financial, and psychological. This study used a qualitative approach with a phenomenological study. Data sources consisted of primary data, namely the parents of three elementary school students who actively use Roblox, and secondary data in the form of supporting documents. Data collection techniques used were semi- structured in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The instruments used were an interview guide and observation sheets. Data analysis included data reduction, data presentation, and drawing and verifying conclusions. The results showed that parents perceived the negative influence of Roblox as a complex syndrome. Socially, Roblox was perceived as shifting children’s interactions to the virtual world and disrupting family communication. Academically, the platform was considered a major distraction from concentration and a trigger for procrastination. Financially, concerns included uncontrolled transactions and the internalization of consumer values based on virtual social status. Psychologically, parents observed emotional lability and early signs of dependency, where children’s emotional well-being became closely tied to in-game experiences. It was concluded that parents perceived Roblox as more than just entertainment, but rather a complex digital ecosystem that simultaneously has the potential to isolate children socially, impair academic achievement, distort financial literacy, and threaten their psychological stability.
