Abstract

Karakter peduli lingkungan merupakan perwujudan sikap manusia melalui tindakan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari untuk menjaga, mencegah kerusakan, serta memperbaiki lingkungan disekitarnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis strategi menumbuhkan karakter peduli lingkungan siswa sekolah dasar di SDN Mulyorejo 1/237 Surabaya. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitaitif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Subjek penelitian melibatkan lima peserta didik kelas IV B yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi selama empat hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi pembiasaan yang telah dilakukan di SDN Mulyorejo 1/237 Surabaya yaitu Operasi Gerakan Semut, pembiasaan piket kelas dan merawat tanaman, efektif dalam menumbuhkan karakter peduli lingkungan pada peserta didik. Namun, strategi tersebut belum dapat dikatakan berhasil sepenuhnya, karena hasil wawancara menunjukkan bahwa kebiasaan peduli lingkungan peserta didik belum terinternalisasi secara konsisten di luar sekolah, dan guru wali kelas V A mengakui belum menemukan solusi efektif untuk mengatasi minimnya pengawasan orang tua di rumah. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perlunya tindak lanjut yang terstruktur, khususnya melalui program kolaborasi antara sekolah dan orang tua, agar karakter peduli lingkungan dapat terbentuk secara konsisten di seluruh lingkungan peserta didik, sehingga konsistensi sikap peduli lingkungan belum optimal. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan perlunya kolaborasi antara sekolah dan orang tua dalam mengawasi dan memperkuat pembiasaan karakter peduli
lingkungan.

Environmental awareness is the manifestation of human attitudes through actions in daily life to preserve, prevent damage, and restore the surrounding environment. This study aims to analyze strategies for fostering environmental awareness among elementary school students at SDN Mulyorejo 1/237 Surabaya. The method used is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach. The research subjects involved five fourth-grade B students selected through purposive sampling. Data collection techniques were conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation over four days. The results of the study indicate that the habit-forming strategies implemented at SDN Mulyorejo 1/237 Surabaya—namely the “Ant Movement Operation,” classroom duty assignments, and plant care—are effective in fostering an environmentally conscious character among students. However, these strategies cannot yet be considered fully successful, as interview results indicate that students’ environmentally conscious habits have not been consistently internalized outside of school, and the homeroom teacher of Class V A acknowledged that an effective solution to address the lack of parental supervision at home has not yet been found. This study recommends the need for structured follow-up, particularly through collaborative programs between schools and parents, so that an environmentally conscious character can be consistently fostered throughout the students’ environment; thus, consistency in environmentally conscious attitudes has not yet been optimal. This study recommends the need for collaboration between schools and parents in monitoring and reinforcing the habit of environmental care.
