Abstract
Peningkatan konsumsi energi dan dampak lingkungan pada sektor industri manufaktur menuntut perusahaan untuk menerapkan sistem manajemen energi dan lingkungan secara terintegrasi guna meningkatkan efisiensi operasional dan keberlanjutan produksi. Penerapan standar internasional ISO 14001 tentang Sistem Manajemen Lingkungan dan ISO 50001 tentang Sistem Manajemen Energi menjadi salah satu pendekatan strategis untuk mengendalikan konsumsi energi sekaligus meminimalkan dampak lingkungan industri. Salah satu upaya peningkatan efisiensi energi dapat dilakukan melalui inovasi teknis pada sistem transmisi mesin produksi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh perubahan sistem transmisi dari gearbox menjadi timing belt pada mesin penggiling tepung MDDK terhadap efisiensi energi, biaya operasional, serta dampak lingkungan di PT. Bogasari Flour Mills Surabaya.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dan
kualitatif melalui pengukuran kinerja mesin sebelum dan
sesudah implementasi perubahan sistem transmisi. Parameter yang dianalisis meliputi konsumsi energi listrik, arus motor listrik, biaya konsumsi energi, konsumsi pelumas, biaya pengolahan limbah bahan berbahaya dan beracun (B3), serta perhitungan emisi karbon dioksida (CO₂) berdasarkan faktor emisi listrik sistem Jawa–Madura-Bali. Analisis dilakukan dengan membandingkan kondisi operasional mesin sebelum
dan setelah implementasi sistem transmisi baru.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perubahan sistem transmisi dari gearbox menjadi timing belt mampu menurunkan arus motor sebesar 34,6 A atau sekitar 11,4%. Penurunan arus tersebut berdampak pada penurunan konsumsi energi listrik per 3 bulanan dari 253.464,23 kWh menjadi 224.482,77 kWh, sehingga menghasilkan penghematan biaya energi listrik sebesar Rp 34.777.755 per 3 bulan. Selain itu, konsumsi pelumas mengalami penurunan signifikan dari 24 liter menjadi 0 liter per 3 bulan atau sebesar 100%, yang diikuti dengan penurunan biaya penggunaan pelumas sebesar Rp 1.449.120 per 3 bulan serta penurunan biaya pengolahan limbah B3 sebesar 0%. Dari aspek lingkungan, penurunan konsumsi
energi listrik menghasilkan reduksi emisi karbon sekitar 24,460 Ton CO₂ per 3 bulan.
Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa inovasi perubahan sistem transmisi pada mesin penggiling tepung MDDK terbukti mampu meningkatkan efisiensi energi, menurunkan biaya operasional, serta mengurangi dampak lingkungan industri. Implementasi inovasi ini secara langsung mendukung penerapan sistem manajemen energi dan lingkungan yang terintegrasi sesuai dengan standar ISO 14001 dan ISO 50001 serta berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan kinerja keberlanjutan perusahaan.

The increasing energy consumption and environmental impacts in the manufacturing industry require companies to implement integrated energy and environmental management systems to improve operational efficiency and production sustainability. The adoption of international standards, namely ISO 14001 for Environmental Management Systems and ISO 50001 for Energy Management Systems, has become a strategic approach to controlling energy consumption while
minimizing industrial environmental impacts. One effort to improve energy efficiency is through technical innovation in the transmission systems of production machinery. This study aims to analyze the effect of replacing the gearbox transmission system with a timing belt system on the MDDK flour milling machine in terms of energy efficiency, operational costs, and environmental impacts at PT. Bogasari Flour Mills Surabaya.
This research employed both quantitative and qualitative approaches by evaluating the machine performance before and after the implementation of the transmission system modification. The analyzed parameters included electrical energy consumption, electric motor current, electricity costs, lubricant consumption, hazardous and toxic waste (B3) treatment costs, and carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions calculated using the Java–Madura-Bali electricity grid emission factor. The analysis was conducted by comparing machine’s operating
conditions before and after the implementation of the new transmission system.
The results indicate that replacing the gearbox with a timing belt reduced motor current by 34.6 A, equivalent to approximately 11.4%. This reduction led to a decrease in quarterly electrical energy consumption from 253,464.23 kWh to 224,482.77 kWh, resulting in electricity cost savings of IDR 34,777,755 per quarter. Furthermore, lubricant consumption decreased significantly from 24 litres to 0 litres per quarter, representing a 100% reduction, leading to lubricant cost savings of IDR 1,449,120 per quarter and eliminating hazardous waste treatment costs associated with lubricant disposal. From an environmental perspective, the reduction in electricity consumption contributed to a decrease of approximately 24.460
tons of CO₂ emissions per quarter.
Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the transmission system modification implemented on the MDDK flour milling machine successfully improves energy efficiency, reduces operating costs, and minimizes environmental impacts. The implementation of this innovation directly supports the integrated application of ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 management systems and contributes to enhancing the company's sustainability performance.
