Abstract
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kelayakan penerapan sistem pembangkit listrik tenaga hybrid (diesel–photovoltaic) dalam memenuhi kebutuhan energi listrik di Pulau Gili Ketapang, Kabupaten Probolinggo. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah tingginya ketergantungan masyarakat terhadap pembangkit listrik tenaga diesel (PLTD) yang memiliki biaya operasional tinggi, efisiensi rendah, serta berdampak negatif terhadap lingkungan. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan alternatif solusi energi yang lebih efisien, ekonomis, dan berkelanjutan.
Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan analisis deskriptif, yang meliputi analisis kelayakan teknis, ekonomi, dan lingkungan. Data yang digunakan terdiri dari data primer melalui survei dan wawancara, serta data sekunder seperti kebutuhan beban listrik, potensi radiasi matahari, dan parameter ekonomi. Perancangan sistem dilakukan dengan menentukan kapasitas komponen utama seperti panel surya, generator diesel, inverter, dan baterai, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan parameter Net Present Cost (NPC), Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE), serta konsumsi bahan bakar dan emisi.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem hybrid diesel–photovoltaic memiliki potensi untuk meningkatkan efisiensi sistem kelistrikan, menurunkan konsumsi bahan bakar diesel, serta mengurangi emisi gas rumah kaca. Selain itu, sistem ini juga dinilai lebih ekonomis dalam jangka panjang meskipun membutuhkan investasi awal yang cukup besar. Dengan demikian, penerapan sistem hybrid menjadi solusi yang layak dan berkelanjutan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan energi listrik di wilayah kepulauan seperti Pulau Gili Ketapang.

This study aims to analyze the feasibility of implementing a hybrid power generation system (diesel–photovoltaic) to meet electricity demand in Gili Ketapang Island, Probolinggo Regency. The background of this research is the high dependence of the community on diesel power plants, which have high operational costs, low efficiency, and negative environmental impacts. Therefore, an alternative energy solution that is more efficient, economical, and sustainable is required.
The research method used is a quantitative approach with descriptive analysis, including technical, economic, and environmental feasibility analysis. The data used consist of primary data obtained through surveys and interviews, as well as secondary data such as electrical load demand, solar radiation potential, and economic parameters. The system design involves determining the capacity of key components such as solar panels, diesel generators, inverters, and batteries, followed by analysis using Net Present Cost (NPC), Levelized Cost of Energy (LCOE), fuel consumption, and emission parameters.
The results show that the hybrid diesel–photovoltaic system has the potential to improve system efficiency, reduce diesel fuel consumption, and decrease greenhouse gas emissions. In addition, the system is considered more economical in the long term despite requiring a relatively high initial investment. Therefore, the implementation of a hybrid system is a feasible and sustainable solution for meeting electricity demand in island regions such as Gili Ketapang Island.
