Abstract
Pemanfaatan minyak jelantah sebagai bahan bakar alternatif merupakan salah satu upaya untuk mengurangi limbah rumah tangga dan UMKM sekaligus mendukung konsep energi terbarukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan performa kompor rumah tangga yang menggunakan minyak jelantah rumah tangga dan minyak jelantah UMKM pedagang sempol pada aspek waktu operasional. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan pengujian langsung pada kompor minyak jelantah menggunakan volume bahan bakar dan kondisi pengujian yang dibuat seragam. Parameter yang diamati meliputi waktu didih air, durasi nyala api, dan konsumsi bahan bakar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa minyak jelantah UMKM memiliki waktu didih air yang lebih cepat, yaitu 18 menit, dibandingkan minyak jelantah rumah tangga yang memerlukan waktu 23 menit. Namun, pada durasi nyala api, minyak jelantah rumah tangga lebih unggul dengan waktu 41 menit, sedangkan minyak jelantah UMKM hanya 32 menit. Adapun konsumsi bahan bakar minyak jelantah rumah tangga sebesar 8,33 ml/menit, sedangkan minyak jelantah UMKM sebesar 8,70 ml/menit. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, dapat disimpulkan bahwa jenis minyak jelantah memengaruhi performa kompor rumah tangga, terutama pada aspek kecepatan pemanasan air dan ketahanan nyala api.

The utilization of waste cooking oil as an alternative fuel is one approach to reducing household and small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) waste while supporting the development of renewable energy. This study aims to compare the operational performance of a household stove fueled by waste cooking oil collected from households and from SMEs operating sempol street food businesses, with a particular focus on operational time. An experimental method was employed by conducting direct performance tests on a waste cooking oil stove under identical testing conditions and using the same fuel volume. The observed parameters included water boiling time, flame duration, and fuel consumption. The results show that waste cooking oil obtained from SMEs produced a shorter water boiling time of 18 minutes, compared with 23 minutes for household waste cooking oil. However, household waste cooking oil exhibited a longer flame duration of 41 minutes, whereas waste cooking oil from SMEs sustained combustion for only 32 minutes. In terms of fuel consumption, household waste cooking oil recorded a consumption rate of 8.33 mL/min, while waste cooking oil from SMEs showed a slightly higher rate of 8.70 mL/min. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the source of waste cooking oil significantly affects the performance of a household stove, particularly in terms of water heating rate and flame sustainability.
