Abstract

In the era of globalization and increasingly complex business competition, companies are no longer only required to achieve financial profit, but also to maintain business sustainability through the application of business ethics principles and good corporate governance. This study aims to analyze the synergy between business ethics and good corporate governance as the main pillars in realizing sustainable business. Business ethics reflect the values, norms, and standards of behavior that serve as guidelines in organizational decision-making, while corporate governance functions as a system that regulates and controls the company to operate in a transparent, accountable, responsive, independent, and fair manner.

The research method used is a qualitative approach with a literature study and conceptual analysis of various relevant theories and best practices. Data were obtained from scientific journals, company reports, and regulations related to governance and business ethics. The results of the study show that the integration of business ethics and corporate governance can increase stakeholder trust, strengthen company reputation, and minimize the risk of misconduct and conflicts of interest. In addition, companies that consistently implement both aspects tend to have more stable long-term performance and higher competitiveness.

Furthermore, this synergy also encourages the creation of an organizational culture with integrity, increases regulatory compliance, and strengthens corporate social responsibility. Effective implementation requires commitment from all organizational elements, from top management to employees, and must be supported by a strong supervisory system.

In conclusion, business ethics and corporate governance are not two separate concepts, but rather complement each other in creating the foundation for sustainable business. Companies that are able to integrate both strategically will be better prepared to face global challenges and maintain their existence in the long term.
