Hubungan Personal Hygiene terhadap Respon Imun melalui Analisis Reaksi Hipersensitivitas di Pondok Pesantren Modern As-Sholihin Surabaya

Latar Belakang : Personal hygiene merupakan upaya menjaga kebersihan tubuh dan kesehatan, personal hygiene yang buruk dapat menyebabkan terjadinya paparan alergen secara berulang hingga menimbulkan reaksi hipersensitivitas. Pemeriksaan total leukosit (eosinofil dan basofil) dapat membantu menilai aktivitas sistem imun dalam tubuh. Tujuan : Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui hubungan personal hygine dengan respon imun melalui analisis reaksi hipersensitivitas di Pondok Pesantren Modern As-Sholihin Keputih Surabaya. Metode : jenis penelitian ini observasional analitik dengan desain cross-sectional. Sampel darah pasien diambil lalu dilakukan pemeriksaan total leukosit (eosinofil dan basofil) menggunakan metode flowcytometry. Hasil uji berupa jumlah total eosinofil dan basofil, data dianalisis menggunakan uji statistik non-parametrik menggunakan uji chi-square. Hasil : Berdasarkan hasill penelitian didapatkan hasil pemeriksaan eosinofil normal sebanyak 86.7% dan tidak normal 13.3% sedangkan pada pemeriksaan basofil normal sebanyak 90.0% dan tidak normal 10.0%. Hasil uji chi-square menunjukkan nilai p-value 0.000 yang berarti terdapat hubungan antara personal hygiene dengan pemeriksaan eosinofil. Hasil uji chi-square menunjukkan nilai p-value 0.543 yang berarti tidak terdapat hubungan antara personal hygiene dengan pemeriksaan basofil. Dengan demikian, personal hygiene yang kurang baik berhubungan dengan meningkatnya risiko reaksi hipersensitivitas pada santri Pondok Pesantren Modern As-Sholihin Surabaya.

Background: Personal hygiene is an effort to maintain bodily cleanliness and health; poor personal hygiene can lead to repeated exposure to allergens, which may trigger hypersensitivity reactions. A complete white blood cell count (eosinophils and basophils) can help assess the activity of the body’s immune system. Objective: This study was conducted to determine the relationship between personal hygiene and immune response through the analysis of hypersensitivity reactions at As-Sholihin Modern Islamic Boarding School in Keputih, Surabaya. Methods: This was an observational analytical study with a cross-sectional design. Blood samples were collected from patients, and total leukocyte counts (eosinophils and basophils) were measured using flow cytometry. The test results, consisting of the total counts of eosinophils and basophils, were analyzed using non-parametric statistical tests, specifically the chi-square test. Results: Based on the study findings, 86.7% of eosinophil counts were normal and 13.3% were abnormal, while 90.0% of basophil counts were normal and 10.0% were abnormal. The chi-square test results showed a p-value of 0.000, indicating a significant association between personal hygiene and eosinophil levels. The chi-square test results showed a p-value of 0.543, indicating no significant association between personal hygiene and basophil levels. Thus, poor personal hygiene is associated with an increased risk of hypersensitivity reactions among students at As-Sholihin Modern Islamic Boarding School in Surabaya.
