Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the overview of the use of oral antidiabetic drugs and insulin, as well as the extent to which therapy targets are achie achieved in outpatient type 2 diabetes mellitus patients in 2025. The research design is non-exprimental quantitative with a retrospective descriptive approach, based on secondary medical record data, using a total inclusion and exclusion criteria. The data were processed descriptively using Microsoft Excel and presented in tables and percentage diagrams. The results show that most patients were aged 56-65 years (38.64%) and were female (63.64%), with hypertension being the most common comorbid condition (18.45%). Oral therapy dominated (77.16%), with a combination of two drugs being the most common pattern (17.73%); vildagliptin was the most prescribed (30.93%), while human premixed insulin was the most used insulin (69.66%). The targets were achieved in 56.811% and 52.27% of patients, respectively. Short-term glycemic control is easier to achieve than long-term control, so HbA1c still needs to be the main indicator for evaluating therapy success. Subsequent research is recommended to use an analytic design by adding patient compliance variables for a more comprehensive picture the determinants of therapy success.
