Hypertension is a non-communicable disease that serves as a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. The appropriate use of antihypertensive medication plays a crucial role in achieving blood pressure targets and preventing complications. This study aimed to determine the profile of antihypertensive drug use and blood pressure control among hypertensive patients at the Mojo Community Health Center in Surabaya. A descriptive study with a retrospective design was conducted using medical record data from hypertensive patients covering the period of January to June 2025. The sample was selected using purposive sampling based on established inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data collected included patient characteristics, antihypertensive drug usage profiles, and blood pressure target achievement. Data analysis was performed descriptively using frequency distributions and percentages. The results showed that 46 patients (50.5%) were aged ≥60 years; the majority were female (72.5%), had a normal body mass index (50.5%), and had no comorbidities (68.1%). Most patients received monotherapy (92.3%); the most frequently used class of antihypertensive drugs was Calcium Channel Blockers (CCBs), with amlodipine being the most commonly used specific drug. A total of 78 patients (85.7%) achieved the blood pressure target of <140/90 mmHg. In conclusion, antihypertensive drug use at the Mojo Community Health Center was dominated by amlodipine (a Calcium Channel Blocker), with monotherapy being the most common treatment regimen, and the majority of patients achieved blood pressure targets in accordance with treatment guidelines. These findings are expected to serve as a basis for evaluation to improve antihypertensive drug utilization and blood pressure target achievement among hypertensive patients.
