Abstract
The aims of this paper to analyze and describe the lexical of John Keats; poems based on stylistic analysis and describe the lexical of John Keats related with the theme of the poems. This study choose three themes of the poems that will be the subject for this research, consist of “When I Have Fears”, “Ode To a Nightingale” and “A Thing of Beauty (Endymion. This study uses qualitative method. Qualitative method is conducted to gain deep understanding about the meaning of a particular phenomena, usually related to the social issues. Data collection techniques used in this study are library research and literary research. Library research was conducted to collect the theories and concepts that are relevant with the topic of this research, which is conducted through searching in books, journal, articles, either from online or offline sources. Then method of data analysis applied in this research is stylistic analysis of lexical level. The result described that John Keats poems that are analyzed in this study is categorized as romantic poem because the theme that always associated with beauty, that presents the expression of the poet with a feeling of fear of impending death.Keats describe the theme of the three poems through the use and the choice of the words, punctuation and understanding of words and strings of words in the poem.Basically, the three poems are concerning the feeling owned by the poet in terms of beauty and fears of death.
