Abstract
The title of the thesis is “An Analysis Jo’s Female Masculinity in Louisa May Alcott Little Women.” This study focuses to analyze the masculinity in Louisa May Alcott Little Women. This thesis needs the relevant theories that are used to analyze statement of the problems. This research uses elements of literature to analyze the masculinity of Jo in Little Women. If a study wants to analyze a literary work, it must use the elements of literature. This research uses Pringle and Stericker, burke and stats, Hillary M.Lips. It focuses to use the concept of masculinity, different between gender and sex, and female masculinity. This research is a qualitative research because this study wants to analyze the masculinity depicted in Little Woman. Then this thesis presents data analysis. After this study gets enough data and the relevant theory, it continues to doing the analysis of data taken from dialog and action masculinity in Little Women and answer statement of the problems. The last part of this study presents the result of the analysis and the conclusion.
