Abstract
The title of the thesis is “The Analysis of Feminism Depicted in George Eliot Middlemarch.” This study focuses to analyze the feminism in George Eliot Middlemarch. This thesis needs the relevant theories that are used to analyze statement of the problems. This research uses elements of literature to analyze the feminism in Middlemarch. If a study wants to analyze a literary work, it must use the elements of literature. This research uses Rosemarie Tong’s Feminist Thought. It focuses to use elements of feminism; liberal feminism, radical feminism, Marxist and socialist feminism. This research is a qualitative research because this study wants to analyze the feminism depicted in Middlemarch. Then this thesis presents data analysis. After this study gets enough data and the relevant theory, it continues to doing the analysis of data taken from dialog and action feminism in Middlemarch and answer statement of the problems. The last part of this study presents the result of the analysis and the conclusion. Key words: Feminism, Liberal, Radical, Marxist, Socialist.
