Abstract
Listening is the ability to identify and understand what others are saying. This involves understanding a speaker’s accent or pronunciation. In this research, the researcher analyzed the seventh grade of junior high school in SMP Muhammadiyah 16 Surabaya. The purpose of this research is to find kinds of voice note, the implementation of voice note used in teaching learning process, and to know the students responses. The research design was descriptive qualitative, the subject was English listening comprehension of Imperative Sentence in English lesson (Listening by using voice note). This research used observation checklist and questionnaire to collect the data. This research analyzed the implementation of voice note and the students’ responses based on the questionnaire. The finding of the research showed the teacher used imperative sentence in teaching listening comprehension. The highest percentage 80%, from voice note showed that the listening section is understandable and has positive effect for the student’ learning listening. The voice note used by the teacher is appropriate for teaching listening. The teacher was able to manage the listening classroom effective between the listening material and students’ heard was balanced.
