Abstract
Nuraini, Hesty. 2015. Lennie’s Fetishism as Portrayed in John Steinbeck’s Of Mice and Men.Thesis, English department, teacher training and education faculty of Muhammadyah University at Surabaya. The advisor I : Dra. Mas’ulah, M. A., advisor II : Ari Setyorini, S. S., M. A. The objective of this concern on the idea is Fetishism on Lennie in the novel Of Mice and Men. This studyuses qualitative approach. The data were taken from quotation which proves the Fetishism on Lennie and the cause of Lennie’s fetishism. This study applied the concept of fetishism supported by theory sexuality and abnormal sexuality. The analysis of this study concerns on the different behavior especially sexual behavior in the society. The normal sexual is hetero sexual where it is done by the relation between male and female. But, here Lennie indicates that he has abnormal sexuality because his libido arises when he sees or touches soft thing. This study also concern on the background of Lennie’s fetishism which is caused by the structure of his personality. Key word: Psychoanalysis, Fetishism, Of Mice and Men
