Abstract

Background: In pedic ulcer debridement surgery, anesthesia can be done with spinal anesthesia or general anesthesia. In each of these types of anesthesia, pain can occur in patients after surgery. Both general anesthesia and spinal anesthesia aim to manage pain during and after surgery. However, the effectiveness data between these two anesthesia techniques in overcoming the perception and quality of postoperative pain is still minimal. Objective: To determine the comparison of pain perception in postoperative patients with pedic ulcer debridement performed under general anesthesia and spinal anesthesia. Methods: Using cross sectional method with purposive sampling technique. The research sample used medical records of postoperative patients with pedic ulcer debridement wich is anesthetized with general anesthesia and spinal anesthesia at RSI Darus Syifa' Surabaya. Results: The results of chi-square statistical analysis showed that the p-value was
0.222 in the first 3 hours of pain perception, 0.389 in the first 6 hours of pain perception and 0.375 in the first 24 hours of pain perception. Conclusion: there is no difference in pain perception in postoperative pedic ulcer debridement patients under general anesthesia with spinal anesthesia.
