Abstract
========================================================================
Sectio Caesarea (Sc) is a surgical procedure to deliver a fetus through an incision in the abdominal wall and uterus, intended to support women who are unable to give birth
naturally. A cesarean section (CS) causes pain, which is managed with the administration of non-opioid analgesics. The purpose of this study was to determine the use of non opioid analgesics in post-CS surgery patients at RSUD Haji, East Java. A sample of 169 patients was obtained retrospectively using a purposeful sampling strategy based on medical records. The study findings revealed that the 31–35-year-old age group dominated, with 29% still within the ideal age range for a healthy pregnancy, while the risk of complications was higher in those under 20 and over 35 years of age. The majority
of patients used JKN PBI (54.44%) and JKN NON PBI (42.60%), demonstrating high trust in the JKN scheme. The most common indication for a Sc was a previous Sectio
Caesarea (15%), as post-Sc tissue is susceptible to tearing, posing a risk to subsequent pregnancies. The maximum length of stay was 3 days (67%), adjusted for case complexity and pain level. The most commonly used non-opioid analgesic was ketorolac 30 mg injection (35%), followed by mefenamic acid 500 mg tablets (29%). Clinical data on blood pressure during the 5 days postoperatively showed hypotension in 36%–51% and grade 1 hypertension in 22%–39%, related to pain-induced sympathetic nerve activation. Most patients were stable with normal body temperature (92%–100%), pulse rate (89%-100%), RR (82%–91%), and SpO2 >95% in 98%, indicating clinical stability throughout treatment. These results are important for pain management and patient monitoring after a Sc.
