Abstract
Persimpangan Jalan Ahmad Yani–Wonokromo di Kota Surabaya merupakan salah satu simpang bersinyal yang memiliki tingkat kemacetan tinggi akibat tingginya volume kendaraan serta adanya perlintasan kereta api sebidang yang sering menutup arus lalu lintas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kinerja lalu lintas pada kedua simpang utama, yaitu Simpang Bersinyal BNI Wonokromo dan Simpang Bersinyal Taman Mayangkara, baik dalam kondisi normal maupun saat kereta melintas, berdasarkan Pedoman Kapasitas Jalan Indonesia (PKJI 2023/2024). Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui survei lapangan untuk memperoleh data volume lalu lintas, geometri simpang, tundaan, panjang antrian, serta derajat kejenuhan (Dj). Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kedua simpang telah beroperasi dalam kondisi jenuh (Level of Service E–F) dengan nilai derajat kejenuhan (Dj) melebihi ambang batas 0,85. Pada Simpang Bersinyal BNI Wonokromo, Dj mencapai 0,91–1,14 pada hari kerja dan 0,88–1,05 pada akhir pekan, dengan tundaan rata-rata lebih dari 60 detik per kendaraan. Pada Simpang Bersinyal Taman Mayangkara, Dj berkisar antara 0,87–1,08 pada hari kerja dan 0,84–0,98 pada akhir pekan, terutama padat pada pendekat selatan (arah pusat kota) saat penutupan perlintasan kereta api berlangsung. Kondisi ini menunjukkan bahwa kapasitas simpang tidak lagi mampu menampung arus kendaraan secara optimal, khususnya pada jam puncak. Sebagai alternatif solusi, disarankan pembangunan atau pelebaran fly over untuk memisahkan arus kendaraan dengan jalur kereta api serta sinkronisasi siklus sinyal lalu lintas dengan jadwal kedatangan kereta agar tundaan dan antrian dapat diminimalkan. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan menjadi acuan bagi pihak terkait dalam meningkatkan kinerja lalu lintas di kawasan Wonokromo dan sekitarnya.

The Ahmad Yani–Wonokromo Intersection in Surabaya City is one of the signalized intersections experiencing severe congestion due to high traffic volumes and the presence of a level railroad crossing that frequently disrupts traffic flow. This study aims to analyze the traffic performance of two major intersections—BNI Wonokromo Intersection and Taman Mayangkara Intersection—under both normal conditions and during train crossings, based on the Indonesian Road Capacity Manual (PKJI 2023/2024). The research employed a quantitative approach through field surveys to obtain data on traffic volume, intersection geometry, delay, queue length, and degree of saturation (Dj). The analysis results indicate that both intersections operate under saturated conditions (Level of Service E–F), with degree of saturation (Dj) values exceeding the threshold of 0.85. At the BNI Wonokromo Intersection, Dj values range from 0.91–1.14 on weekdays and 0.88–1.05 on weekends, with an average delay exceeding 60 seconds per vehicle. Meanwhile, at the Taman Mayangkara Intersection, Dj values range from 0.87–1.08 on weekdays and 0.84–0.98 on weekends, with the highest congestion occurring at the southern approach (toward the city center) during train crossings. These conditions indicate that the intersection capacity can no longer accommodate the traffic flow efficiently, especially during peak hours. As an alternative solution, it is recommended to construct or widen the flyover to separate vehicular and railway traffic, as well as to synchronize traffic signal cycles with train schedules to minimize delays and queue lengths. The findings of this study are expected to serve as a reference for relevant authorities in improving traffic performance in the Wonokromo area and its surroundings.
