Abstract
Kemampuan operasi dasar matematika merupakan fondasi penting dalam pembelajaran numerasi di Pendidikan Dasar. Namun, berbagai penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa Sekolah Dasar masih mengalami kesulitan dalam penguasaan operasi penjumlahan, pengurangan, dan perkalian pada tingkat kompleksitas yang lebih tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis efektivitas penerapan Mini Kuis sebagai strategi penguatan operasi dasar, peninjauan materi sebelumnya, dan asesmen formatif awal pembelajaran terhadap kemampuan numerasi dan upaya belajar siswa kelas 4 SD Muhammadiyah 4 Pucang Surabaya. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain one-group pre-test– post-test dan analisis pertumbuhan nilai sumatif. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 62 siswa kelas 4 yang mengikuti pembelajaran matematika dengan integrasi Mini Kuis secara sistematis. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes kemampuan operasi dasar matematika dengan lima tingkat kompleksitas. Analisis data dilakukan melalui perbandingan skor pre-test dan post-test serta perhitungan effect size. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan rerata kemampuan operasi dasar matematika sebesar 36,34% dan peningkatan upaya belajar siswa sebesar 17,47%. Nilai effect size berada pada kategori sedang hingga tinggi, yang menandakan bahwa Mini Kuis berpengaruh signifikan dalam meningkatkan kemampuan operasi dasar matematika dan upaya belajar siswa. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa Mini Kuis efektif digunakan sebagai asesmen formatif awal pembelajaran di Sekolah Dasar.

Basic mathematical operational skills are an important foundation for numeracy learning in Elementary School. However, various studies showed that Elementary School students still experience difficulties in mastering addition, subtraction, and multiplication operations at higher levels of complexity. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of implementing Mini Quizzes as a strategy for reinforcing basic operations, reviewing previous material, and providing initial formative assessment of learning on the numeracy skills and learning effort of Grade 4 students at SD Muhammadiyah 4 Pucang Surabaya. The study used a quantitative approach with a one-group pre-test–post-test design and summative score growth analysis. The study subjects consisted of 62 fourth-grade students who participated in mathematics learning with the systematic integration of Mini Quizzes. The research instrument was a basic mathematical operations ability test with five levels of complexity. Data analysis was conducted by comparing pre-test and post-test scores and calculating effect sizes. The results showed an average increase in basic mathematical operations ability of 36.34% and an increase in student learning effort of
17.47%. The effect size values were in the moderate to high category, indicating that Mini Quizzes had a significant impact on improving basic mathematical operations ability and student learning effort. These findings demonstrated that Mini Quizzes are effective as early formative assessments in elementary schools.
