Abstract
Internet memiliki peran penting dalam mendukung kegiatan akademik di perguruan tinggi, namun keterbukaan akses internet memungkinkan pengguna mengakses laman dan konten yang tidak sesuai dengan tujuan pendidikan. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk merancang dan membangun sistem pembatasan akses internet berbasis ekstensi browser dengan menggunakan metode Network development life cycle (NDLC) pada studi kasus UMSURA. Metode NDLC digunakan sebagai kerangka kerja pengembangan sistem yang meliputi tahapan analisis, desain, simulasi, implementasi, monitoring, dan manajemen. Sistem yang dibangun terdiri dari ekstensi browser untuk melakukan pemblokiran laman berbasis domain dan penyensoran konten berbasis kata kunci, serta website administrator sebagai pusat pengelolaan kebijakan dan pencatatan log aktivitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sistem yang dikembangkan mampu membatasi akses internet sesuai kebijakan yang ditetapkan dan mendukung pengelolaan penggunaan internet di lingkungan UMSURA.

The internet plays an important role in supporting academic activities in higher education, but open internet access allows users to access pages and content that are not in accordance with educational goals. Therefore, this study aims to design and build a browser extension-based internet access restriction system using the Network development life cycle (NDLC) method in a case study of Muhammadiyah University of Surabaya. The NDLC method is used as a system development framework that includes the stages of analysis, design, simulation, implementation, monitoring, and management. The system built consists of a browser extension for domain-based page blocking and keyword-based content censorship, as well as an administrator website as a center for policy management and activity log recording. The results of the study indicate that the developed system is able to limit internet access according to established policies and supports the management of internet usage within the Muhammadiyah University of Surabaya environment.
