Abstract
Pendidikan Islam saat ini menghadapi tantangan besar berupa penurunan moral dan hilangnya adab dalam belajar, baik pada guru maupun pelajar. Penelitian ini berupaya menggali kembali nilai-nilai pendidikan klasik dalam Muqoddimah Sunan ad-Darimi karya Imam ad-Darimi sebagai solusi untuk memperkuat karakter pendidikan modern berdasarkan tradisi ulama-ulama zaman dahulu.
Tujuan penelitian ini mencakup tiga poin utama: (1) mengidentifikasi konsep belajar mengajar dalam kitab Muqoddimah Sunan ad-Darimi; (2) mendeskripsikan karakteristik tradisi pendidikan Islam klasik yang terkandung di dalamnya; dan (3) menganalisis relevansi konsep-konsep tersebut terhadap problematika pendidikan modern saat ini.
Metode yang digunakan adalah penelitian pustaka kualitatif-deskriptif. Peneliti menelaah 649 hadits dan atsar dalam Muqoddimah Sunan ad-Darimi menggunakan teknik analisis isi untuk merumuskan prinsip-prinsip pendidikan yang terkandung di dalamnya secara mendalam.
Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan tiga hal utama : Pertama, terdapat enam domain pendidikan yaitu etika karakter, sikap hati-hati (wara'), metode lisan• tulisan, kewibawaan melalui sanad dan perjalanan ilmiah (rihlah), kejiwaan pelajar, serta nilai akhirat. Kedua, tradisi pendidikan klasik menekankan suhbah yang mendalam dengan guru sebagai teladan hidup, menjadikan adab dan cara berpikir ditransmisikan secara langsung. Otoritas ilmu lahir dari pengakuan kolektif komunitas ilmiah, disertai budaya kritik dan verifikasi yang kuat. Seluruh proses belajar menyatu dengan ibadah, sehingga ilmu menumbuhkan khasyah (rasa takut) kepada Allah, bukan sekadar kecakapan intelektual. Ketiga, konsep klasik dalam Muqodimmah ad-Darimi tetap relevan sebagai solusi pendidikan di era digital: prinsip sanad memperkuat literasi kritis melawan hoaks, budaya wara' dan tawadhu' menahan arogansi intelektual, serta talaqqi dan suhbah menyeimbangkan dominasi teknologi. Integrasi adab memastikan kemajuan teknologi tetap dipandu oleh kompas moral manusia.

Islamic education currently faces major challenges in the form of moral decline and the loss of etiquette in learning, both among teachers and students. This study seeks to rediscover the classical educational values in Imam ad-Darimi's Muqoddimah Sunan ad-Darimi as a solution to strengthen the character of modern education based on the traditions of ancient scholars.
The objectives of this study included three main points: (1) identifying the concepts of teaching and learning in the Muqoddimah of Sunan ad-Darimi; (2) describing the characteristics of the classical Islamic educational tradition contained therein; and (3) analyzing the relevance of these concepts to current problems in modern education.
The method used was qualitative-descriptive library research. Researchers examined 649 hadith and atsar in the Muqoddimah Sunan ad-Darimi using content analysis techniques to formulate in-depth educational principles.
The study concluded three main points: First, there are six educational domains: character ethics, prudence (wara'), oral-written methods, authority through sanad (chain of transmission) and scientific journey (rihlah), student spirituality, and afterlife values. Second, the classical educational tradition emphasized deep suhbah (religious guidance) with teachers as living role models, enabling manners and ways of thinking to be directly transmitted. The authority of knowledge arised from the collective recognition of the scientific community, accompanied by a strong culture of criticism and verification. The entire learning process was integrated with worship, so that knowledge fosters a sense of fear of Allah, not merely intellectual prowess. Third, the classical concepts in the Muqodimmah ad-Darimi remain relevant as educational solutions in the digital age: the sanad principle strengthens critical literacy against hoaxes, the culture of wara' and tawadhu' restrains intellectual arrogance, and talaqqi and suhbah balance technological dominance. The integration of adab ensures that technological progress remained guided by the human moral compass.
