Abstract
Abstrak. Tujuan penelitian untuk menelaah dan meninjau dampak dari pembelajaran bahasa melalui metode berbasis teks terhadap kemampuan kognitif siswa sekolah dasar. Instrumen pokok dalam penelitian ialah peneliti yang bersangkutan serta instrumen pendukung proses pengambilan data berupa observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi berupa hasil pembelajaran siswa tingkat sekolah dasar. Data penelitian bersumber dari buku, artikel, jurnal, dan karya ilmiah lainnya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam pelaksanaan pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia dengan menggunakan metode berbasis teks yang dilaksanakan di sekolah dasar berbeda-beda hasilnya dari siswa satu dengan lainnya, selain dari faktor pembelajaran, juga ada kaitan erat dengan mampuan kognitif siswa dalam memahami teks bahasa Indonesia.

Abstract. The purpose of this research is to examine and review the impact of language learning through text-based methods on the cognitive abilities of elementary school students. The primary instrument in this research is the researchers, along with supporting instruments for data collection in the form of observations, interviews, and documentation of elementary school students' learning outcomes. The research data comes from books, articles, journals, and other scientific works. The results of this study indicate that the implementation of Indonesian language learning using text-based methods in elementary schools results in varying outcomes for each student. In addition to learning factors, there is also a close relationship with students' cognitive abilities in understanding Indonesian language texts.
