Abstract

Pendidikan perempuan merupakan aspek penting dalam pembangunan sumber daya manusia dan kemajuan bangsa. Dalam konteks Indonesia, pemikiran KH. Ahmad Dahlan memberikan kontribusi signifikan dalam membuka akses pendidikan bagi perempuan melalui pembaruan pendidikan Islam yang berlandaskan Al-Qur’an dan Hadis serta berpijak pada realitas sosial masyarakat. KH. Ahmad Dahlan memandang pendidikan sebagai sarana pemberdayaan, pembentukan akhlak, dan transformasi sosial, termasuk bagi perempuan yang pada masa itu masih menghadapi keterbatasan akses pendidikan dan peran publik. Pemikiran tersebut tidak hanya bersifat konseptual, tetapi diwujudkan secara nyata melalui pendirian lembaga pendidikan modern dan organisasi perempuan seperti ‘Aisyiyah.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemikiran KH. Ahmad Dahlan tentang pendidikan perempuan, mengkaji implementasinya di SMP Muhammadiyah 17 Surabaya, serta menelaah relevansinya dengan pendidikan perempuan di Indonesia saat ini.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi literatur dan studi lapangan. Data diperoleh melalui studi literasi terhadap karya dan pemikiran KH. Ahmad Dahlan serta literatur pendukung, observasi terhadap kegiatan pembelajaran dan budaya sekolah, wawancara mendalam dengan kepala sekolah, guru, dan siswi SMP Muhammadiyah 17 Surabaya, serta dokumentasi sebagai data pendukung. Analisis data dilakukan secara tematik melalui tahap reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan untuk menjawab rumusan masalah penelitian.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemikiran KH. Ahmad Dahlan tentang pendidikan perempuan menekankan kesetaraan akses pendidikan, integrasi ilmu agama dan ilmu umum, pembentukan akhlak dan kesalehan sosial, serta orientasi pendidikan pada pemberdayaan dan amal nyata. Implementasi pemikiran tersebut di SMP Muhammadiyah 17 Surabaya tercermin dalam pemberian kesempatan yang setara kepada siswi dalam pembelajaran dan kepemimpinan, penguatan nilai religius dan akhlak, pengembangan kemandirian dan tanggung jawab, serta keterlibatan aktif siswi dalam kegiatan sosial berlandaskan Tafsir Al-Ma’un. Secara keseluruhan, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa pemikiran KH. Ahmad Dahlan tidak hanya relevan secara historis, tetapi juga kontekstual dan aplikatif dalam pendidikan perempuan di Indonesia, serta dapat menjadi landasan normatif dan praktis bagi pengembangan pendidikan perempuan yang berkeadilan dan berkemajuan.

The women’s education is a crucial aspect of human resource development and national progress. In the Indonesian context, the thoughts of KH. Ahmad Dahlan made a significant contribution to opening access to education for women through the renewal of Islamic education based on the Qur’an and Hadith and grounded in social realities. KH. Ahmad Dahlan viewed education as a means of empowerment, moral development, and social transformation, including for women who at that time still faced limited access to education and public roles. These thoughts were not merely conceptual but were realized through the establishment of modern educational institutions and women’s organizations such as ‘Aisyiyah.
This study aims to analyze KH. Ahmad Dahlan’s thoughts on women’s education, examine their implementation at SMP Muhammadiyah 17 Surabaya, and examine their relevance to women’s education in Indonesia today.
This research employed a descriptive qualitative method with a literature review and field study approach. Data were obtained through a literature review of the works and thoughts of KH. Ahmad Dahlan and supporting literature, observations of learning activities and school culture, in-depth interviews with the principal, teachers, and students of SMP Muhammadiyah 17 Surabaya, and documentation as supporting data. Data analysis was conducted thematically through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing to address the research problem formulation.
The results indicated that KH. Ahmad Dahlan’s thoughts on women’s education emphasize equal access to education, the integration of religious and general knowledge, the formation of morals and social piety, and an orientation toward empowerment and real charity. The implementation of these thoughts at SMP Muhammadiyah 17 Surabaya is reflected in the provision of equal opportunities for female students in learning and leadership, the strengthening of religious and moral values, the development of independence and responsibility, and the active involvement of female students in social activities based on the Tafsir Al-Ma’un. Overall, this study concludes that the thoughts of KH. Ahmad Dahlan’s work is not only historically relevant but also contextually and practically applicable to women’s education in Indonesia. It can serve as a normative and practical foundation for the development of equitable and progressive women’s education.
