Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan Deep approach dan surface approach terhadap self efficacy dan prestasi belajar matematika siswa SMP di Surabaya. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain korelasional. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket dan dokumentasi nilai matematika siswa. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 200 siswa kelas VIII dari empat SMP Muhammadiyah di Surabaya yang dipilih menggunakan teknik random sampling. Analisis data menggunakan uji korelasi, regresi linear berganda, dan MANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Deep approach memiliki hubungan positif dan signifikan terhadap self efficacy dan prestasi belajar matematika siswa. Sebaliknya, surface approach memiliki hubungan negatif terhadap self efficacy dan prestasi belajar matematika siswa. Secara simultan, Deep approach dan surface approach berpengaruh signifikan terhadap self efficacy dan prestasi belajar matematika siswa. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa penerapan Deep approach dalam pembelajaran matematika dapat meningkatkan self efficacy dan prestasi belajar siswa.

This study aims to determine the relationship between the deep approach and the surface approach on self-efficacy and mathematics achievement of junior high school students in Surabaya. This study used a quantitative approach with a correlational design. Data collection was conducted through questionnaires and documentation of students’ mathematics grades. The research sample consisted of 200 eighth-grade students from four Muhammadiyah junior high schools in Surabaya, selected using random sampling. Data analysis utilized correlation tests, multiple linear regression, and MANOVA. The results indicate that the Deep Approach has a positive and significant relationship with students’ self-efficacy and mathematics achievement. Conversely, the Surface Approach has a negative relationship with students’ self-efficacy and mathematics achievement. Simultaneously, both the Deep Approach and the Surface Approach significantly influence students’ self-efficacy and mathematics achievement. This study indicates that the application of the Deep Approach in mathematics instruction can enhance students’ self- efficacy and academic achievement.
