Abstract

Latar Belakang: Posisi duduk statis memicu Work-related Musculoskeletal Disorders (WMSDs) upper trunk pada penyiar radio. Active microbreak exercise menjadi solusi preventif dan rehabilitatif yang efektif. Tujuan: Mengetahui pengaruh active microbreak exercise terhadap tingkat nyeri dan kemampuan fungsional upper trunk penyiar radio RRI Surabaya. Metode penelitian: Desain kuantitatif one-group pre-post test dengan 11 sampel penyiar radio (25–51 tahun) yang dipilih menggunakan purposive sampling. Intervensi dilakukan 10 kali selama 2 minggu. Pengukuran menggunakan instrumen VAS, NPAD, dan RMDQ, lalu dianalisis dengan uji Paired Sample T-test dan Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. Hasil: Setelah intervensi diberikan, rerata skor nyeri VAS turun dari 2,30 ± 0,65 menjadi 0,91 ± 0,59. Skor fungsional leher (NPAD) turun dari 28,63 ± 14,73 menjadi 16,09 ± 9,26 dan skor fungsional punggung (RMDQ) turun dari 3,36 ± 1,91 menjadi 1,36 ± 1,02. Uji statistik menunjukkan nilai p = 0,001 (Paired Sample T-test) dan p = 0,003 (Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test), membuktikan adanya perubahan signifikan (p < 0,05). Kesimpulan: Active microbreak exercise berpengaruh signifikan dalam menurunkan nyeri dan meningkatkan kemampuan fungsional upper trunk penyiar radio RRI Surabaya.

Background: Prolonged sitting triggers work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) of the upper trunk in radio announcers. Active micro break exercises serve as an effective preventive and rehabilitative solution. Objective: To determine the effect of active micro break exercises on pain levels and upper trunk functional ability among RRI Surabaya radio announcers. Research Method: A quantitative one-group pre-posttest design was used with 11 radio announcers (aged 25–51 years) selected via purposive sampling. The intervention was conducted 10 times over a 2-week period. Measurements were taken using the VAS, NPAD, and RMDQ instruments, then analyzed using the Paired Sample T-test and the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test. Results: After the intervention, the mean VAS pain score decreased from 2.30 ± 0.65 to 0.91 ± 0.59. The neck functional score (NPAD) decreased from 28.63 ± 14.73 to 16.09 ± 9.26, and the back functional score (RMDQ) decreased from 3.36 ± 1.91 to 1.36 ± 1.02. Statistical tests showed p-values of 0.001 (Paired Sample T-test) and 0.003 (Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test), confirming significant changes (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Active micro break exercises have a significant effect on reducing pain and improving the functional ability of the upper trunk in RRI Surabaya radio announcers.
