Abstract

Introduction: Nocturia is a discomfort during the third trimester of pregnancy characterized by increased urination frequency at night, which can disrupt the mother’s sleep quality and comfort. Objective: To provide continuity of midwifery care to Mrs. N with complaints of nocturia from pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, to newborn. Method: This study uses a descriptive method with a case study approach on Mrs. N, a pregnant woman at 36 weeks and 6 days of gestation with complaints of nocturia, who was followed continuously from the pregnancy period, childbirth, postpartum, to the newborn stage. Data were obtained through interviews, observations, physical examinations, and documentation using instruments such as data assessment forms, KSPR sheets, KIA books, partograph sheets, observation sheets, and screening sheets. Results: Ms. N, G1P0000, at 36 weeks and 6 days of gestation, experienced nocturia; management included education on fluid regulation, emptying the bladder before sleep, and Kegel exercises. In Ms. N’s case, mild anemia was found (Hb 10.7 g/dL), and she received nutritional education and was advised to adhere to iron tablet use. On July 21, 2026, her Hb increased to 11 g/dL, and her nocturia decreased to 1-2 times per night. The delivery was spontaneous without complications, with physiological postpartum recovery, and a baby girl was born weighing 3,600 grams and measuring 50 cm. Conclusion: Continuity of midwifery care for Ms. N was successfully implemented. Managing nocturia reduces nighttime urination and improves the mother’s sleep quality, while continuous care supports labor, the postpartum period, and the baby’s adaptation without ongoing complications.
