Abstract

Background: Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) This often occurs in people
with Coronary Artery Disease (CAD) with complaints of chest pain.. Hence antiplatelet
drugs are combined withProton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs) for the prevention of aspirin side
effects and the treatment of GERD itself. Due to the side effects of gastrointestinal
bleeding caused by aspirin, Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs) can also have the effect of
reducing aspirin bioavailability, thereby reducing the action of aspirin. Objectif :To
analyze Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) patients with Coronary Artery
Disease (CAD) treatment dilemma. Methods : Published scientific articles on patients
Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) with Coronary Artery Disease (CAD)
searchable using keywords Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease, Coronary Artery Disease,
Antiplatelet, Proton Pump Inhibitors. by obtaining the number of articles as many as
1144877 and having been screened according to the inclusion criteria to 31 journals.
Results: In Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) patients with Coronary Artery
Disease (CAD) Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs) are often combined with antiplatelet
agents that have been shown to effectively reduce the risk of gastrointestinal
complications in patients. However, in some studies Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs)
administration will reduce the efficacy effect of aspirin antiplatelet Conclusion : The use
of PPI in Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) is recommended for short-term use,
because long-term use of Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPIs) increases the risk of myocardial
infarction, renal failure, and dementia. As well as consideration of the risks and benefits
by examining the risk factors of ganstrointestinal
