Abstract

This study focused on the two main characters in the green book film, especially on the friendship story through postcolonialism of the two main characters, which was highlighted starting from how they met to how they behaved and handled various conflicts that occurred with their very different characteristics from each other and postcolonial factors contained within themselves and the surrounding environment. Frank Anthony Vallelonga wrote the work based on a true story that he experienced; the title of the Green Book was inspired by a guidebook for black tourists in America called The Negro Motorist Green Book. 1962 in New York. Meanwhile, this research examined the value and meaning of friendship through postcolonialism between the two main characters in The Green Book. The result of the study is how they build a friendly relationship with a postcolonial perspective that can be called colonized and colonizer through all the journeys and stories they have gone through together and how friendship changes the perspective of the two main characters in the movie.
