Abstract

Pendahuluan: Kebakaran merupakan salah satu bencana non-alam yang sering terjadi di kawasan padat penduduk seperti Tambaksari, Surabaya. Minimnya pengetahuan mitigasi kebakaran pada anak sekolah dasar menjadi tantangan besar dalam membentuk budaya sadar bencana sejak dini. Video animasi dipilih sebagai media edukatif karena dinilai efektif dalam menyampaikan informasi yang kompleks secara visual dan menarik. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penyuluhan menggunakan media video edukatif terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan siswa tentang mitigasi bencana kebakaran dan pertolongan pertama di SDN Tambaksari 3 Surabaya. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan desain kuantitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan studi kasus pretest- posttest terhadap 30 siswa kelas V SD Tambaksari 3. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa kuesioner pengetahuan mitigasi bencana kebakaran (20 soal) dan lembar observasi respon siswa. Data dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif untuk menilai peningkatan pengetahuan dan respon siswa terhadap media edukasi. Hasil: Hasil pretest menunjukkan bahwa 60% siswa berada pada kategori pengetahuan rendah, dengan rata-rata skor 10,5 dari 20. Setelah intervensi video edukasi, terjadi peningkatan signifikan, dengan 66,7% siswa mencapai kategori tinggi dan rata-rata skor naik menjadi 16,2. Respon siswa selama kegiatan edukasi sangat positif, dengan skor observasi yang mencerminkan antusiasme, partisipasi aktif, dan pemahaman terhadap materi. Diskusi: Media video animasi terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan pemahaman siswa sekolah dasar tentang mitigasi kebakaran. Visualisasi yang menarik, alur cerita yang sederhana, dan pendekatan sesuai perkembangan kognitif anak menjadikan video animasi sebagai alat pembelajaran yang mampu meningkatkan keterlibatan dan pengetahuan siswa secara bermakna.

Introduction: Fire is a non-natural disaster that frequently occurs in densely populated areas such as Tambaksari, Surabaya. The lack of knowledge about fire mitigation among elementary school children poses a major challenge in fostering a culture of disaster awareness from an early age. Animated videos were chosen as an educational medium because they are considered effective in conveying complex information in a visual and engaging manner. Objective: This study aims to determine the effect of educational video education on improving students’ knowledge about fire disaster mitigation and first aid at SDN Tambaksari 3, Surabaya. Method: This study used a descriptive quantitative design with a pretest- posttest case study approach with 30 fifth-grade students at SDN Tambaksari 3. The instruments used were a fire disaster mitigation knowledge questionnaire (20 questions) and a student response observation sheet. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics to assess improvements in students’ knowledge and responses to educational media. Results: Pretest results showed that 60% of students were in the low knowledge category, with an average score of 10.5 out of 20. After the educational video intervention, there was a significant improvement, with 66.7% of students reaching the high knowledge category and the average score increasing to
16.2. Student responses during the educational activities were very positive, with observation scores reflecting enthusiasm, active participation, and understanding of the material. Discussion: Animated video media has proven effective in improving elementary school students' understanding of fire mitigation. Engaging visuals, simple storylines, and a developmentally appropriate approach make animated videos a learning tool capable of significantly increasing student engagement and knowledge.
