Abstract
Pendahuluan: Masa prasekolah disebut sebagai masa keemasan (Golden Age), di mana fungsi psikis dan fisik anak mulai berkembang dengan merespons lingkungan sekitar dan mengintegrasikan pengalaman tersebut ke dalam diri mereka. Anak yang mengalami hambatan dalam perkembangan personal sosial cenderung menunjukkan perilaku seperti mudah marah, menantang, sering menangis, hingga merasa cemas saat berinteraksi. Jika aspek ini tidak terpenuhi, anak bisa menjadi pasif, takut, dan kurang inisiatif. Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perkembangan personal sosial pada anak dengan ibu bekerja di Tambak Wedi Surabaya. Metode: Metode penelitian menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari dua anak prasekolah usia (3-6) tahun (An. R usia 3 tahun dan An.D usia 4 tahun 6 bulan), yang dipilih menggunakan teknik purposive sampling berdasarkan kriteria tertentu, yaitu memiliki ibu yang bekerja. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara, dan pengukuran perkembangan menggunakan instrumen Denver Developmental Screening Test II (DDST II). Hasil: Menunjukkan variasi perkembangan: An. R berada pada kategori Keterlambatan (Delay), ditandai dengan penolakan berpakaian dan ketidakmandirian makan. Sementara An. D berada pada kategori Normal. Meskipun demikian, kedua responden memiliki kelemahan yang sama pada aspek kemandirian, yaitu belum mampu mengambil makan sendiri. Faktor yang memengaruhi perkembangan anak meliputi pola asuh meliputi jam kerja, ketersediaan waktu ibu, serta stimulasi yang diberikan di rumah. Diskusi: Keterlambatan kemandirian anak sangat erat kaitannya dengan jam kerja ibu yang panjang, yang memicu kelelahan dan stres. Keadaan ini mendorong ibu/pengasuh untuk melakukan perilaku melayani (seperti menyuapi) demi efisiensi waktu, sehingga secara signifikan menghambat peluang anak mengembangkan inisiatif dan otonomi yang merupakan tugas perkembangan utama usia prasekolah..

Introduction: The preschool period is referred to as the golden age, where children’s psychological and physical functions begin to develop in response to their surroundings and integrate these experiences into themselves. Children who experience obstacles in their personal and social development tend to exhibit behaviors such as irritability, defiance, frequent crying, and anxiety when interacting with others. If these aspects are not fulfilled, children can become passive, fearful, and lack initiative. Objective: The objective of this study was to determine the personal and social development of children with working mothers in Tambak Wedi Surabaya. Method: This study used a qualitative descriptive method with a case study approach. The research subjects consisted of two preschool children aged 3-6 years (Child R, aged 3 years, and child D, aged 4 years and 6 months), who were selected using purposive sampling based on specific criteria, namely having working mothers. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and developmental measurements using the Denver Developmental Screening Test II (DDST II) instrument. Results: The results showed variations in development: An. R was in the Delay category, characterized by refusal to dress and dependence in eating. Meanwhile, An. D was in the Normal category. However, both respondents had the same weakness in terms of independence, namely not being able to feed themselves. Factors that influence child development include parenting patterns, such as working hours, the availability of mothers, and the stimulation provided at home. Discussion: Delayed independence in children is closely related to long working hours for mothers, which cause fatigue and stress. This situation encourages mothers/caregivers to engage in serving behaviors (such as spoon-feeding) for the sake of time efficiency, thereby significantly hindering children’s opportunities to develop initiative and autonomy, which are the main developmental tasks of preschool age.
