Abstract

Pembelajaran di pondok pesantren memiliki karakteristik yang khas karena terintegrasi dengan kehidupan sehari-hari santri. Namun, dalam praktiknya pembelajaran masih berpotensi dipahami sebatas rutinitas kegiatan tanpa dimaknai secara mendalam oleh santri. Kondisi ini menuntut adanya model pembelajaran yang mampu meningkatkan meaningfull learning melalui keterlibatan langsung santri dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya penerapan model Experiential Learning sebagai pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis pengalaman dalam konteks pendidikan pesantren. Rumusan masalah penelitian ini meliputi: (1) bagaimana penerapan model Experiential Learning dalam proses pembelajaran santri di Pondok Pesantren Manarul Qur’an, dan (2) bagaimana tingkat meaningfull learning santri setelah diterapkannya model Experiential Learning. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penerapan model Experiential Learning serta menganalisis meaningfull learning santri dalam proses pembelajaran.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian deskriptif. Subjek penelitian meliputi ustadz agus dan santri di Pondok Pesantren Manarul Qur’an. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Analisis data menggunakan model Miles dan Huberman yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, serta penarikan kesimpulan, sedangkan keabsahan data diperoleh melalui triangulasi sumber dan teknik.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model Experiential Learning diterapkan melalui tahapan pengalaman nyata, observasi reflektif, konseptualisasi, dan implementasi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari santri. Penerapan model ini menjadikan pembelajaran lebih kontekstual dan bermakna, ditandai dengan meningkatnya pemahaman santri terhadap tujuan pembelajaran, kemampuan mengaitkan materi dengan pengalaman belajar, serta internalisasi nilai-nilai keislaman dalam sikap dan perilaku santri. Dengan demikian, Experiential Learning berperan penting dalam meningkatkan meaningfull learning santri di lingkungan pesantren.

Learning in Islamic boarding schools has distinctive characteristics because it is closely integrated with students’ daily lives. However, in practice, learning activities may still be perceived merely as routines without deep meaning for the students. This condition highlights the need for a learning strategy that enhances meaningful learning through students’ direct involvement in the learning process. This study is motivated by the importance of implementing the Experiential Learning strategy as an experience-based learning approach in the context of Islamic boarding school education. The research problems include: (1) how the Experiential Learning strategy is implemented in the learning process of students at Manarul Qur’an Islamic Boarding School, and (2) how the level of students’ meaningful learning develops after the implementation of the Experiential Learning strategy. This study aims to describe the implementation of Experiential Learning and to analyze students’ meaningful learning in the learning process.
This research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive research design. The research subjects consisted of teachers (ustadz agus/ustadz agusah) and students at Manarul Qur’an Islamic Boarding School. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis followed the Miles and Huberman model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing, while data validity was ensured through source and technique triangulation.
The findings indicate that the Experiential Learning strategy was implemented through stages of concrete experience, reflective observation, abstract conceptualization, and active experimentation in students’ daily learning activities. This implementation made learning more contextual and meaningful, as reflected in students’ improved understanding of learning objectives, their ability to relate learning materials to real-life experiences, and the internalization of Islamic values in their attitudes and behaviors. Therefore, Experiential Learning plays a significant role in enhancing meaningful learning among students in Islamic boarding school settings.
