Abstract

Transportasi darat, khususnya dump truck memiliki fungsi vital dalam pengangkutan material curah dalam berbagai sektor konstruksi dan manufaktur. Upaya pengendalian kelebihan muatan atau yang disebut Over Dimension dan Over Loading (ODOL) yang mengacu pada kendaraan yang melebihi dimensi maksimum dan melebihi JBI. Ketidaksesuaian dalam penetapan daya angkut barang, berdampak pada kekuatan casis kendaraan, dan daya dukung infastruktur yang memiliki batas Muatan Sumbu Terberat (MST) yang diklasifikasikan melalui kelas jalan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis metode perhitungan daya angkut, menganalisis pengaruh peningkatan nilai Jumlah Berat yang Diperbolehkan (JBB) terhadap nilai daya angkut barang, serta menganalisis hubungan antara Jumlah Berat yang Diperbolehkan (JBB), berat kosong, dan Muatan Sumbu Terberat (MST) terhadap daya angkut barang pada mobil barang jenis dump truck Isuzu, Hino dan Mitsubishi.
Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan studi kasus pada 30 unit dump truck yang terdiri dari 10 unit merk Isuzu JBB 8250 kg, 10 Unit merk Hino JBB 8300 kg, 10 unit merk Mitsubishi JBB 8500 kg. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pengukuran dimensi kendaraan, penimbangan berat sumbu, serta pencatatan spesifikasi teknis di UPT Pengujian Kendaraan Bermotor Dinas Perhubungan Kabupaten Malang. Perhitungan daya angkut dilakukan menggunakan dua pendekatan, yaitu metode empiris berdasarkan regulasi pemerintah dan metode teoritis menggunakan prinsip statika untuk menentukan distribusi beban sumbu.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perhitungan daya angkut menggunakan 2 metode yaitu metode empiris dan metode teoritis, pada kendaraan dump truck merk Hino dengan JBB 8300 kg yang memiliki presentase daya angkut barang paling tinggi sebesar 51,63% dibandingkan dengan merk Mitsubishi dengan JBB terbesar yaitu 8500 kg hanya mampu mengangkut barang sebesar 49,46% dari JBB. Hal ini menunjukan bahwa peningkatan nilai Jumlah Berat yang Diperbolehkan (JBB) tidak selalu menghasilkan peningkatan nilai daya angkut kendaraan meskipun Mitsubishi memiliki JBB terbesar (8.500 kg), daya angkutnya tidak paling tinggi karena memiliki berat kosong yang lebih besar dari Isuzu dan Hino. Hubungan antara Jumlah Berat Yang Diperbolehkan (JBB), berat kosong (BK), dan Muatan Sumbu Terberat (MST) sangat menentukan besarnya daya angkut kendaraan.

Land transportation, particularly dump trucks, plays a vital role in the transport of bulk materials across various construction and manufacturing sectors. Efforts to control overloading— referred to as Over Dimension and Over Loading (ODOL)—which refers to vehicles exceeding maximum dimensions and exceeding the JBI—are crucial. Inconsistencies in determining cargo carrying capacity impact vehicle chassis strength and infrastructure load-bearing capacity, which is limited Maximum Axle Load (MST), which is classified by road class. This study aims to analyze load-carrying capacity calculation methods, analyze the effect of increasing the Permitted Gross Weight (PGW) on the load-carrying capacity, and analyze the relationship between the (JBB), empty weight, and Maximum Axle Load (MST) on cargo-carrying capacity for Isuzu, Hino, and Mitsubishi dump trucks.
The research method used is a quantitative approach with a case study of 30 dump trucks consisting of 10 Isuzu units with a JBB of 8,250 kg, 10 Hino units with a JBB of 8,300 kg, and 10 Mitsubishi units with a JBB of 8,500 kg. Data collection was conducted by measuring vehicle dimensions, weighing axle loads, and recording technical specifications at the Motor Vehicle Testing Unit of the Malang Regency Transportation Agency. Load-carrying capacity calculations were performed using two approaches: an empirical method based on government regulations and a theoretical method using the principles of statics to determine axle load distribution.
The research results show that load-carrying capacity calculations using the two methods—the empirical method and the theoretical method—revealed that the Hino dump truck with a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 8,300 kg had the highest cargo load-carrying capacity percentage at 51.63%, compared to the Mitsubishi model with the highest GVW of 8,500 kg, which could only carry 49.46% of its GVW. This indicates that an increase in the Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) does not always result in an increase in the vehicle’s load-carrying capacity; although the Mitsubishi model has the highest GVW (8,500 kg), its load- carrying capacity is not the highest because it has a greater unloaded weight than the Isuzu and Hino models. The relationship between Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW), curb weight (CW), and Maximum Axle Load (MAL) significantly determines a vehicle’s carrying capacity.
